SALON AUSTRIA WINNER AND FALSTAFF WHITE WINE CUP WINNER: FRANZ LETH TAKES IT ALL

With the victory in the renowned SALON Zweigelt category and a 2nd place finish at the Falstaff Grüner Veltliner Grand Prix, the Leth family from Fels at Wagram have once again demonstrated its class in viticulture and winemaking as one of Austria’s best winery. The SALON Austria wine is considered to be the toughest wine competition in Austria. From approximately 7,000 wines submitted, only 260 wines are chosen for the final list in their respective categories. 16 SALON winners represent the peak quality of this competition for Austrian winegrowers. Franz Leth is included in the list, due to his success in 2010 with the “Grüner Veltliner Scheiben 2009” and the current year with the rich and powerful “Blauer Zweigelt Grande Reserve 2012”.

As with the Zweigelt triumph, the Leth winery can also report success at the unofficial Austrian Grüner Veltliner Championship, the “Falstaff Veltliner Grand Prix”. Following successes in 2011 and 2013, the “Grüner Veltliner Schafflerberg 2014” again achieved a top position finishing second with a place on the podium in this competitive tasting.
