Which varieties thrive best here?

The showcase variety of the Wagram is Grüner Veltliner, which delivers charming fruit and, in a full-bodied version, peppery spiciness. More than half of our 42 hectares of vineyards are planted with Grüner Veltliner. Another tasty white variety, Roter Veltliner, is a fruity-spicy speciality cultivated almost solely on the Wagram. On gravelly primary rock, the Riesling shows perfect elegance and minerality. And of the red wine varieties, especially Zweigelt and Pinot Noir prefer the warm, well-aerated soils here.
